Wowie. Another stinker. Who would’ve thought?
Titans remain deader than dead, and sadder than sad. I don’t really know what more to even say about this team this season. Thanks for the draft position Bengals. There was so much hype going into the season, so much hope to get back on track. And now we’re wondering what we’re going to do with our quarterback, head coach, and GM. This is a good spot to be in as a franchise right? Sike! This is bad!
My biggest question after this game was ; did our defense give up or were they never good? The numbers would tell you we have a top 5 defense in the league, however if you would’ve watched a couple Titans games, you would’ve seen 9 games where we allowed 24 or more points.
Now you may say, “Preston, points aren’t a pure tell of how good a defense is”, and this is true. If your special teams gives the other team’s offense the ball at our own 40, they’re probably going to score, in some way or another. However, in our situation, the Titan’s defense gave up the least amount of yards because the other team got a huge return, or block, or fumble, and they’re already on our 40. The Titans defense ranks 27th in the league this year on opponents redzone scoring percentage, with opposing teams scoring nearly 65% of the time in the redzone. Compare this to last year with Mike Vrabel, Titans allowed less than 38% in the same stat. I miss him. I miss Derrick. Sad times for the Titans.
This leads to my point of, has the defense actually been bad, or did we give up. Honestly I’d rather we gave up, because if that was the best we could do against a terrible Bengals team, we’re in deep doodoo.
Levis got benched. Again. Was it for an injury? Who knows! Callahan seems adamant Levis is still competing for the starting job, but i’m not so sure. Is Levis the most hated quarterback by his own coach? Because everytime you see them together talking and interacting, it looks like Callahan has never seen somebody he hates more.
Mason Rudolph was just declared the starter for next week, so the Levis experiment may finally be over. What a sad franchise to have Mason Rudolph at the helm. I’m sure he’s a nice guy, but its just a sad state of affairs.
It is funny to look back and see how much hope and excitement was going around back in August. I truly thought we’d win the AFC South, or at least compete for it. What a fool I am.
Shoutout to Tyjae Spears on finally being a large part of our offense. He can be so electric when he gets the opportunity, but big surprise, the guy with no ACL gets hurt often. Chig played maybe his best game of the season as well. He had (I think and I’m not going to fact check this) the most catches in a game of his career. I want to believe Chig can be a star tight end, but I need to see a lot more games like this to trust it.
Titans are dead, please don’t draft a qb, let’s lose the rest of our games for draft position.
Haters are so fine, they barely even think about us anymore.
Onto the Colts, be on the lookout for another loss. I’m at a terrible point in my life where I am officially rooting for the Colts to win next week so we can hopefully get a top 5 pick. Hell if we lose out, we may even get a top 3 pick. Good lord the NFL has a lot of bottom of the barrel teams this year.
