A Post for the Haters

Haters have been so right.

I have been so wrong.

After 14 weeks, i’m finally ready to admit it ; the Titans are not a good football team. I thought we would be! But we’re not. We’re dead.

Titans lose in a 10-6 shootout to the Jags on Sunday. You saw that right, 10-6. Titans managed to put up 6 points against a bottom 3 defense in the league. And the worst part? We won the turnover battle! Titans had 2 picks! Against Mac Jones! And the offense was just that dysfunctional , so we go home with 2 field goals. Just truly an stinky, ugly, horrifying game.

The good news is at least we’re finally, hopefully, away from the, “Levis can be the franchise guy” talks. Because he was bad. I don’t want to take anything away from him either. I could 100% see him having a ( future Titans quarterback ) Sam Darnold story, where he comes back in 6 years and starts for a team and plays well. He’s just not there yet, and the Titans aren’t really doing him any favors.

I’ve been giving Levis props the last couple weeks, because he’s deserved them. He played very well over the last 4 games. Today was different. He was plain missing wide open receivers ( Calvin Ridley streaking on a crosser ), overthrowing fades and go-routes ( NWI in the endzone ), and just not making it happen like he had the past couple weeks.

Now his skill players didn’t do him any favors. Calvin Ridley is also partially to blame for this loss, when he ran out of bounds with 3 minutes left in the game on 3rd and 5, down 4. NWI missed a catch in the endzone, it was a little out of reach, but he should’ve caught it.

The only real bright spot of this game was Tony Pollard. He, again, had 100 yards rushing and just keeps proving how good he is. Unfortunately for him, he’s on the 3-10 Titans.

This game, more than any up to this point, showed the extreme lack of coaching in some areas, and a team that quit. It’s very hard for me to say that and it hurts. But it felt very true. There was no energy, guys are mad at each other, mad at coaches, it’s just bad.

Last week, I was ready to say I still believe in  Callahan and his system, and I was willing to buy in. I’m not so sure anymore. He’s currently on my week-to-week list of being bought in. Right now, he’s out. It’s up to him to change my mind.

Overall, this game was just sad. It was like beating an actual dead horse. Just terrible football all around. Jags were just as bad, but they did win so congrats Jags I guess. Thanks fore the draft postition.

I will say it again ; please please please Titans, do not draft a quaterback this draft. Please. I don’t think any of them will be better than Levis right now. Please draft a right tackle or an edge rusher. We don’t need to be apart of the Bears endless quarterback controversy. Please.

Haters were so right, and have been all season. I’m a fool. Titans are dead.
