I’m About to Say We’re Back

Everybody stay calm. I don’t want to alarm you, but the Titans might be back.

I know i’ve done this song and dance so many times, but we just beat the Texans. We hate the Texans, with everything in us. The NFL has been blowing smoke up their ass all year, and their owner, Hannah McNair (her husband is the owner), keeps calling us out and trying to beat a dead horse.  Apparently, I didn’t know this until last week, Hannah McNair and Miss Amy are arch-rivals, and the Titans came to play for her.

Well guess what, you just got Nick Westbrook-Ikhined.

It’s okay! It’s gonna happen to your team eventually, that’s just what he does. NWI has 6 touchdowns on the year. He’s tied for 5th in the league, with the longest touchdown in the league this year (98 yards). Say what you want to about the Titans, at least we’ve got this man.

My William Levis take is looking better and better. People said I was reaching when I said he just needed a couple weeks off. Will Levis, since coming back from injury, has thrown for 750 yards, 5 touchdowns and 2 interceptions (and he should’ve had more in the Vikings game, but you already read that rant). Before this stent, he threw for 700 yards, 5 touchdowns, and 7 picks. That’s all we’ve wanted! Improvement! He’s showing that he can be a decent quarterback in this league, he just has to stay consistent, and for God’s sake please learn how to navigate a pocket. He still has things to work on, let’s be clear, but he’s been good the past couple weeks.

The biggest thing I’ve noticed about his games, is that the Coaches are finally letting him throw the ball downfield. That’s where Levis, and I think Callahan too, thrive. With big explosive plays like Cally had in Cincinnati. If we can keep Levis going, we might just have something to build off of going into next year.

We also discovered a few other things about the Titans over the last couple weeks.

Tony Pollard is an absolute stud. He’s closing in on a 1,000 yard season on the ground already, and has been the most reliable part of the offense. I don’t know what the Cowboys did to him last year, but he looks like a completely different player. He’s explosive and has some of the best balance in the league as a runner.

Apparently, we drafted some dogs in the 5th round this past draft. Jarvis Bronwnlee Jr has been lockdown. He’s had a ton of opportunities to play sine Sneed and Chido have been out, and he’s proving he might have what it takes to be a solidified NFL corner. That’s not ignoring tho other young guys who have really stepped up in the secondary : Julius Wood, Baker Jr, Jeudy-Lally, all play way above what’s expected of them.

The defense is still pretty elite. Big Jeff and Sweat tear it up every week, and I personally couldn’t imagine anything scarier than those two coming at you. Sweat got his first sack of the season and had a perfect “Get in my belly” celebration, I love him so much.

The biggest flaw as a team is still special teams. Gave the Texans plenty of big returns again, letting them have 2 play drives to score. It’s still killing this team, but somehow we were able to overcome that trash and get a big win.

The other big issue, is still sacks and turnovers, but like I said earlier, Levis has been good and the turnovers have gone way down. He still needs to learn how to move in the pocket and find space. After watching the tape, it looked to me like at least 3 of the 8 sacks on the day were his fault, holding onto the ball for too long. But the offensive line isn’t really doing him any favors. Latham had his worst game of the season, almost a welcome to NFL moment with Danielle Hunter, but we knew he’d had some bumps in the road. And amazingly, NPF had his best game of the season. Again, improvement! All we can ask for.

Ultimately i’m feeling pretty good. We’re still a 3 win team, and we still have a lot to work on. But damn I’m close to hying back in. Callahan is really turning me, he’s had a fire in him the last couple games, he’s opening up the playbook, and it really feels like the team is still fighting hard for him. Would I still want Vrabel? Yes, but that’s okay! I’m trying to move on here guys.

Titans win a much needed game, vibes are up, and technically, our playoff chances are still alive.

I’ll send you into Thanksgiving with this scenario ; we just have to run the tables and have every other AFC South team lose every game. Easy work.

Haters didn’t like this, but they keep reminding me that’s win number 3.

Titans play the heartbroken Commanders on Sunday. These Titans vs Those Commanders. I’m gonna be crazy and call a Titans win, 24-20.
